StandInside Media Production is a portfolio site created and maintained by Steve Ewing. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest with a passion for storytelling, Steve earned a degree from University of Oregon in Journalism with focus a on television and radio. UO consistently has one of the top-rated Journalism programs among state schools, and it launched his career.
After college, Steve was hired by Lindblad Expeditions (later partnered with National Geographic) to film eco-focused tours for the guests onboard. After an amazing year chasing bears, monkeys, and tortoises with a video camera, Steve was promoted to work in Lindblad's Seattle office, managing the video production department.
In October 2008, the economy tanked, and the travel industry was hit hard. Lindblad was forced to downsize and Steve became a part of it. At present, Steve is looking for any employment opportunity where he can use his shooting, editing, storytelling, and management skills. Specific areas of interest include science & technology, wildlife & the environment, politics, and travel.
